Consumers in the market for midsize pickups are excited for the debut of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline. The pickup has a 4-foot wide flatbed space that could be useful for carrying items such as drywall or plywood sheeting. It can carry up to 1,600 pounds. This car represents the Japanese company’s second attempt at the pickup market. It has a revitalized uni body mid sizer that is not as much a raked bedrail as the original. Critics of the first Ridgeline argue that absence of separate frames makes the truck useless. The new model takes this into consideration. It has been a decade since the first Ridgeline was launched. The launch of 2017 Ridgeline hopes to sell widely, and keep selling in the long-term.
Interior and Exterior Changes
The new Honda Ridgeline 2017 is supposed to be 5 feet wide and 5 feet inches long. This will make it 4 inches longer and 5.4 inches wider than the original production. Its 4-foot wide flatbed space has 48 inches between the rear wheel arches. The interior of the pickup is a leather trim 5 passenger cabin. One is sure to notice the crisp finishes and high-grade materials used for the interior. There is also a full-color TFT, center meter, 8- inch display audio touch screen with Android Auto compatibility and Apple Car Play, push-button start and tri-zone climate control. The seats on the newer model seem better supported than the previous one seen in the 2015 Honda Ridgeline. The vehicle is equipped with a blind spot information system or multi-angle rearview camera for safety reasons.
The bed is furnished with a 400-watt power inverter and speakers that pump sound out from the audio head unit. The truck is split 60/40 and thanks to the folding second-row seats, there is maximum versatility for cargo-hauling and people utility.

The Japanese company, Honda, often seems like it is its own competition. However, there are full-size pickup models from Toyota, Nissan, and GM that are producing competitive vehicles including the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado and the 2016 Toyota Tacoma. This model is an improvement from the initial Ridgeline. The improvements include forward collision and lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist and collision mitigation and road departure braking systems. The new Honda Ridgeline comfortably hosts 5 people while the seats are folded down. There is storage for long things like golf clubs. There is a concern that the truck may end up being a Japanese truck and that truck buyers may not look too kindly to a pickup whose genetic material is similar to a minivan.
