The honoured Japanese multinational corporation is launching the new 2016 Honda Insight. After the first generation Insight’s two-seat configuration that was not perceived much by the mass, the 2016 Insight, has been Re-engineered and converted to a 5-passenger, 5-door dedicated hybrid vehicle that includes the Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid powertrain.
Exterior and Interior
Standard exterior features incorporated in this low budget vehicle is rear wiper splashier, projection beam halogen headlights with tinted chrome bezels, tinted glass, roof mounted antenna, security system remote entry and an impact absorbing body coloured bumpers. Other features includes nose mask, body side moulding, door edge film, rear bumper application, splash guard sets, door visors, wheel locks.
The 2016 Honda Insight stands out from the others in its opulence interior style and brilliant decor. Standard features for the base model includes stability control, 5-inch diamond spiked alloy wheels, antilock brakes, automatic climate control and a two-speaker sound system. The LX model has an optional cruise control navigation system, stereo system of four speakers and an iPod with USB audio interface. The EX top model comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, steering-wheel having audio controls and six speakers.
Engine and Mileage of 2016 Honda Insight
The 2016 Honda Insightwill be poweredbyan efficient, lightweight, low-friction 1.3-liter SOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine having Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The engine is rated at a maximum output of 98 horse power or (73 kW) at 5800 rpm and a maximum torque of 123 lb-ft. (167 N-m) at 1000–1700 rpm. MacPherson struts at the front and an H-shaped torsion beam at the rear have been used for the Insight. The mileage is rated at 40 mpg in city, 43 mpg in highway and41.0 mpg for a combined drive. The ultimate performance of the engine will however vary due to environmental conditions, driving style and many other parameters.
Price and Release Date of 2016 Honda Insight
The MSRP for the Honda Insightwill start from just about $ 17,000. The price will go higher with its enhanced and top models. The top model will go around $ 19,000.The car is likely to be launched in the beginning of 2016.
